Danika's Blanket & Sweater

I knitted a Pink & White cabled blanket for Danika. I adapted a pattern from the Irish Cable Scarf pattern. I made it much wider for a baby blanket. I think it turned out really beautiful. It was my first time at knitting with cables in the pattern. Once that was finished, I had decided to start a sweater to fit a one year old... it should fit her when the weather starts to get colder this winter. I am so excited that I finally finished this project and have sent it off to her, it only took me 3 months from start to finish.

February Baby Sweater

Here is the begining of my very first baby sweater project. I am almost to the arms holes in this picture. I started this project last night, February 4, 2009. You can find the pattern on Lionbrand.com @ http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/60699AD.html?noImages=

The yarn I am using is: Red Heart Collage color: 2940 "Wood Trail"
it is very soft and light. I simply love this color!!! Will post finished picture when completed. K~

February Magic Socks

I started this sock on Sunday, February 1 st, 2009. What makes this sock different is the purple that I used in the heel & toe is a glow in the dark yarn. So after the lights go off, it glows. That is why I call it the "Magic Sock".

I will post the second sock when I finish this project.

New Moto Sock

Happily I completed both socks just in time for the Sunday Motorcycle Ride! Whoahooooo! These babies are big ones measuring a whopping 21" from cuff to bottom of the heel, and 27" from cuff to toes!!! This will complete my January 2009 projects. Whew!! :-)
Okay, so here it is... Right sock on!

I worked on my husbands "Moto" sock on Tuesday night with the girls. I am putting the picture of it on his foot for you all to see. LOL, this sock was so long nobody thought it could be wearable. Here is the proof :-D

After I came home last night, I kept working on it until it was finished, about 1 a.m. or so?? My husband came home and was able to try on the finished first sock... It FITS! :-D

He was so happy! Now, I have to get the second one done before he goes riding again... which might be this weekend...yikessssss!

See ya later ...K~

Boot Socks for Anthony...

Here are some boot socks that I made in December for my son's friend Anthony ..."Socks" is his nickname.
These were so much fun to make, I used a size 7 needle,, (which tends to make the project go much faster) with a C/O of 40 stitches. These are so very comfortable, and the material that I used was Wool Ease worsted weight "115 Blue Mist" was the color. It is a very nice color, and will compliment a pair of jeans nicely. They are for a size 12 foot.

I am adding them to my January projects list because I haven't seen Anthony yet, and I really like them and thought I should share them with you.

January Projects

First project completed for the year. I used Woolies worsted weight yarn. 40 stitches cast on with a twist stitch pattern. I used two size 7 circular needles for this project.

These are a gift for a dear friend who lives in Idaho and my hopes are that they keep her feet nice and warm ;-D

My First Knitted Project...

The Chocolate Crunch Scarf...

I used size 8 circular needles in this project. Di.Ve' by Cascade Yarn and I believe the color was called "Chocolate Crunch".

This was my first attempt at knitting as well as the basketweave stitch. It was so much fun, it is what got me hooked! :^D

Thanks to Loretta too for showing me the basics.
